Veterinary Physiotherapy is a science based profession using various complimentary treatment modalities, exercise and rehabilitation to achieve defined goals and outcomes.

 

A full detailed assessment is undertaken to determine the best course of physiotherapy treatment.

 

Physiotherapy treatment is adapted to each individual horse and may include use of a range of modalities:

·  acupuncture

·  laser

·  massage 

·  joint mobilisations

·  traction

·  neuromuscular electrical stimulation

·  kinesio-Taping with Equi-tape

·  therapeutic ultrasound

·  myofascial release

·  stretches

·  exercise prescription

·  rehabilitation planning (see Rehabilitation tab) 

 

Initial assessment and treatment is thorough and usually takes 1-1½ hours.
